3M 301 Permanent Reflective Road Stud Inc. Metal Shoe - Amber Body, Amber Reflector (1 Way)
The 301 Road Stud comes complete with a 290 embedded in the centre of the stud. The metal shoe protects the 290 from impact making it more durable. The shoe also gives the hotmelt used to secure the stud assembly more surface area to bond onto.
These studs are most commonly seen on long-term installations on motorways, A-Roads and lorry parking areas.
To install these you will need either a cutting bit for an SDS drill or a specialist machine to grind a suitable recess into the surface of the road. This recess can then accept the metal shoe, stud and around 1kg of hot melt to anchor the stud in place.
