Portagate Barrier - Folding Manhole Barrier - JSP
The JSP Portagate barrier is a durable and diverse folding barrier used by utility companies across the UK and Europe. The barrier is made from blow moulded HDPE (high-density polyethelyne) that has been UV stabilised to prevent it from becoming brittle in sunlight.
The barrier falls into two categories as it is both a chapter 8 barrier and a manhole barrier. The portagate barrier is often seen being used by telecoms, water and gas utility works around inspection panels and cabinets.
The portagate comes in either a three or a four gate configuration by default. You can extend this by joining multiple barriers together, forming long lines, or exclusion zones. Once folded the barriers can be stacked on top of each other. Each portagate has “tabs” that lock into the unit above it keeping them secure in transit.
A Class R1 reflective panel that complies to BS 8442 makes this barrier perfect for use on road works and in the public areas. It also provides 20% more reflectivity than standard materials.
